2. Hosting and visiting the website

The website runs on a server operated on our behalf by Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany. When you visit, the server processes your IP address and information from your browser as far as technically necessary to deliver the pages. We do not store access logs. When you submit a form, we keep your IP address in memory for one minute to prevent abuse. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

3. Cookies

We set a single cookie: "NEXT_LOCALE" remembers your chosen language and is deleted when you close your browser. It is required to show the site in your language (Section 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG).

4. Visitor statistics (Umami)

To see which pages are read, we use the open-source software Umami on our own server; the data is not passed on to anyone. Umami sets no cookies. It records the page visited, referrer, browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language and the location derived from the IP address (country, region, city). The IP address itself is not stored; it is only combined with a key that changes daily into a visit identifier that cannot be traced back to you. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our interest is improving the website.

5. Map (OpenStreetMap)

Some pages show a map from OpenStreetMap. When it loads, your browser transmits your IP address to the OpenStreetMap Foundation in the United Kingdom, which is covered by an adequacy decision of the EU Commission. 6. Enquiries, bookings and reservations

When you request a room, reserve a table or write to us, we process your details (such as name, email, phone, address, dates, number of guests, message) to handle the request and carry out the booking. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, for general enquiries point (f). Without the required details we cannot process the request.

Service providers help us with this: emails are sent via Alfahosting GmbH, invoices are created with sevDesk (sevDesk GmbH). Our staff are notified of new requests by push notification; name and date pass through Apple's notification service (Apple Inc., USA, certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework).

We keep the data as long as needed to handle your request. Booking and invoice data are retained for up to ten years due to legal obligations (Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR).

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability (Art. 15–20 GDPR). An informal message to info@hotel-thueringerwaldblick.de is sufficient.

Right to object: Where we process data on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).

You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Thuringian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (TLfDI).
